I've been making up stories all my life, and if I had to restrict myself to just one type of writing it would have to be fiction.
My first published stories were for young children, originally written for –
and often inspired by – my own two children. As the children grew, I moved on to stories for women's magazines such as Take A Break, Yours,
The People’s Friend, Best and Woman’s Day (Australia).
At present, my main aim is to finish a novel that began in the inspiring confusion
of NaNoWriMo (and was then abandoned, revisited, discarded again … ). But it’s a
slow process because if I get an idea for a new short story I have to stop
whatever I’m doing and scribble it down.
I like exploring different genres and forms of writing, and particularly enjoy the
challenge of flash fiction. I have also recently rediscovered the joys of writing for
